page title icon Ten Florida haunts to scare you silly this Halloween

You’ve already been to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights and Howl-o-Scream at Busch Gardens, but what about the other haunts all over Florida?  Here’s some of the best haunted events all over the state to get your scare on this Halloween!

The Haunt at Old Town in Kissimmee

You probably know of Old Town as that outdoor shopping district just up the road from Walt Disney World with old timey car shows, the Fun Spot theme park, and limited parking (seriously, what’s up with the parking situation there?).  But every October, Old Town turns into one big haunted attraction with scare zones, haunted houses, live entertainment and costume contests.

Petrified Forest Scare Trail in Altamonte Springs

Two outdoor haunted trails through the forest await those brave enough to take on what many say is one of the scariest haunts in Florida.   Want to take the scares to the next level?  Show up on one of their “Eclipse Nights” where you’ll go through this haunt guided only by the light of a single glowstick.  Nope!

Scream-A-Geddon in Dade City

Just a little north of Tampa, Scream-a-Geddon in Dade City is considered to be THE premier haunted attraction in Florida, and the #1 overall winner of FloridaHauntedHouses.com for 2017.   This horror park features a total of 6 haunted attractions, including the incredible “Zombie Paintball Assault”.  Too scared?  There’s a Monster Midway too, with food, games and beer to get your courage up.

Haunted Brewery Zombie Hunt in Jacksonville

Ever wanted to live out your Walking Dead fantasies in real life?  Or maybe reenact a scene from the book World War Z?  At the Haunted Brewery Zombie Hunt, you and your team of trained zombie hunters will set off into the Anheuser-Busch brewery to clean out the zombie hoard that’s waiting for you inside.   This event also features food trucks, live music, and a beer tent.

House of Horror Haunted Carnival in Doral (Miami)

Carnivals are just kind of scary on their own anyway.  Now add psychotic carnies, evil clowns (oxymoron?) and you get South Florida’s Largest Halloween Haunt Experience.  The House of Horrors Haunted Carnival features two new haunted attractions, Blossom Land and AREA 13, Scare X Studios – an interactive experience of illusions, and a midway of carnival horrors.

Demented Escape Room in Margate

The Escape Room craze has been a thing for a few years now, and most of them are just kind of silly or goofy.  Yeah, this one isn’t like that.  You’ll have 45 minutes to work your way out of 4 rooms that will have everybody fearing for their life.    Once your ordeal is complete, you can even re-live the entire thing on video.   If you make it out.

Torment Factory in Gainesville

Ok, first of all, the name “Torment Factory” just immediately makes me uneasy about this one.   Torment Factory is a brand new haunted escape room that features  40 live actors in a collaboration between some of the nation’s most dedicated haunt enthusiasts, and scene artists.  Be among the first to endure this  one in 2018.
